The concept of Agile, with a capital A, had modest beginnings as an alternative approach to IT software delivery. Most organizations now have some degree of Agile delivery capability within IT, albeit with varying degrees of effectiveness and ultimate benefits. Agile is now escaping its IT roots and starting to be adopted in other areas – Agile Business Change being a case in point.
This talk covers what Agile is, where it is applicable, why it is beneficial, and where some of the challenges and pitfalls lie. This will be done in general terms that apply to all types of project or programme, and these principles will then be applied to the specific area of business change. It will also identify the explicit shifts in mindset that are required to achieve the intended benefits of Agile.
